We have exhibited at the World Travel Market one more year together with the USA team. Reed.co.uk organised the event this year and we celebrated together with them the 40th Anniversary of this huge travel event, which started in London back at that time. Since then, it has expanded to many different countries, and now we can enjoy this travel event in Africa, Arabian Travel Market (Dubai), Latin America and Africa.
Apart from expanding on these markets, the organisation has included on their books a new and exciting event called Borderless Live which takes place in the London Tobacco Dock and that brought together 3000+ influencers from all around the globe in their first edition in September, set to be the biggest event for influencers to meet with brands in the UK.
The event is the best platform for businesses in the travel industry to showcase their products, learn the latest trends on the market and find new business.
The top players of the tourism world participate in the different conferences that take place throughout the event. Amongst some of the interventions that took place in this year’s edition, we had the pleasure of listening to Euromonitor International who unveiled the megatrends in travel for 2020 through their research. The insights from it included upcoming trends in Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. The key focus was on major drivers, consumer behaviour and attitudes that are impacting travel companies’ bottom line.
Other conferences and talks included PR pioneer Frank Marr who led a session focused on reputation management for businesses and understanding reputation marketing as a purpose to society. Furthermore, he discussed key PR, marketing, HR and data management mechanisms to manage reputations in a 360, 24/7 world. Plus, a talk from Join Frank Belzer (SVP portfolio sales at Universal Parks and Resorts), where he shared some of the secrets and challenges related to partnerships being fundamental to the Universal Parks global strategy alongside core travel and entertainment brands.
Although not everything was sitting down and getting some knowledge in, we also had the opportunity to see some of the most amazing stands like the Tourist Board of Costa Rica that always makes an impression in the event by bringing the jungle (literally). Others like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain bring half an aeroplane or a Formula1 car.
This is been the second year in a row that we have exhibited with the new stand showcasing our latest products and news, like the self-checkout machines, the Easirent App, and the opening of our latest USA location, Jacksonville.
We also counted with part of the team coming all the way from the United States to join us for the event, our Marketing Manager was able to come and meet some of our partners in Europe, catch up with the team and also try part of the things that London and the UK has to offer!
