London Heathrow Airport has this month announced that it will be launching a new style book in collaboration with supermodel Yasmin Le Bon.
The style book, which has been created alongside the international supermodel Yasmin Le Bon, has been created in celebration of the newly renovated Heathrow Terminal 5. The new coffee-table book, entitled ‘A Journey in Style’ marks the completion of a three year £40 million programme which has brought luxury international fashion brands into the terminal building, including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Prada, Chanel, Cartier and Rolex. There is a total of 23 luxury fashion brands that are gearing up to open their Terminal 5 stores, each one having been beautifully redesigned to fit with the theme of the terminal building.
The proceeds of ‘A Journey in Style’, which features the swinging sixties icon Twiggy on the cover, will be going to Heathrow Airport’s charity partner Oxfam and the book is available to buy from Amazon.co.uk and the Terminal 5 Art Gallery at Heathrow Airport for £15.
Yasmin Le Bon commented on the launch of the book: “There’s something fabulously glamorous about flying that has always fascinated me and to this day I still get excited about travelling. From the starlets of the 50s stepping onto the runway in their oversized sunglasses and trollies stacked with monogrammed luggage, to today’s style icons, air travel has always been packed with stylish possibility.”
The book includes stunning archive images from some of the world’s most renowned photographers, including Dennis Stone, Heathrow’s resident photographer since 1946 – and there’s even one or two of myself in there! It’s been hugely enjoyable working with the team to celebrate the unique relationship between style and flying and to see the book come together. I’ll definitely be keeping a copy on my coffee table.”
